OFFICE OF FAIR TRADING (OFT)
The Office of Fair Trading plays a leading role in helping consumers understand their rights and protecting consumer interests throughout the UK, whilst ensuring that business practices are fair and competitive.
The OFT has a number of enforcement powers and responsibilities, including the overseeing of the consumer credit licensing system, ensuring that licenses to deal in consumer credit are only granted to persons who are considered fit to hold one.
The OFT does not deal with individual complaints but their website contains a variety of information relating to their work and consumer rights generally.
